3 people killed, 2 injured in Raleigh wreck

Three people were killed and two were injured in a wreck early on Sunday in Raleigh.

Around 2 a.m. on Sunday, the driver of a silver car lost control at the intersection of Forestville and Buffaloe roads and crossed the center line, hitting an oncoming SUV according to the N.C. Highway Patrol. Troopers said speed likely was a factor in the crash.

The three people in the silver car were killed in the wreck, troopers said. Two people in the SUV were taken to Wake Medical Center with injuries that were not life threatening.

As of Sunday at about 10:30 a.m., the names of those involved in the wreck had not been released.

No other information was immediately available.
