A tip from WakeMed Cary Hospital that a child had suspicious injuries led to attempted first-degree murder and felony child abuse charges Sunday against the child’s mother’s boyfriend.

The child’s mother already had been arrested Friday on a felony child-abuse charge that said she delayed getting medical help for her daughter after her boyfriend caused skull fractures and bruises. The charges against him said the girl also had liver injuries.

Ronald Frazier, 27, and Kylie Morgan Hamilton, 27, lived together at 157 Clancy Circle, police said.

Hamilton had taken her 4-year-old daughter to WakeMed with severe injuries on Thursday, Cary police said in a news release.

Emergency staff at the hospital reported the injuries to Cary police, following hospital protocol, the release said.

Police arrested Hamilton that evening.

Frazier was already being held without bond when police charged him with attempted murder. They had arrested him Friday on a charge of assaulting Hamilton on Feb. 2 and added a charge Saturday that he tried to strangle her the same day.

The child-abuse charge against Hamilton accused her of waiting before she got medical attention for the girl after Frazier’s “actions.” The charge did not how long police believe she delayed.

None of the charges against Hamilton or Frazier say how police think the little girl was hurt.

Kylie Morgan Hamilton, 27 CCBI

The girl had skull fractures, bruises, according to the charges against Hamilton. The charges against Frazier specify the liver injuries.

Frazier was held Wake County Detention Center without bail because the accusations that he hurt Hamilton are domestic violence charges.

Hamilton was help on $100,00 bail.

The investigation is ongoing. Cary police are asking anyone with additional information to call them at 919-469-4012 or report a tip anonymously to Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-460-4636.
