Drivers in Wake Forest can expect delays this week on South Main Street, the town said.
On Monday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., a contractor working for Duke Energy Progress will close the far-right northbound lane of South Main Street near its intersection with Ligon Mill Road. On Tuesday, the contractor will close the far-right southbound lane, also from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The town won’t post detours, but signs, cones and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic, the town said.
The closures will allow the contractor to replace utility poles in the area.

Also, starting Monday on South Main Street, drivers can expect delays between Sycamore Avenue and Vernon Avenue from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Aug. 3.
Town crews will reduce that stretch of street to one lane with intermittent two-way traffic in order to repair and replace sidewalk, the town said.
Signage and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic.
The town had planned to do the work last week but postponed it because of the threat of rain.
