Five thefts in two weeks from Apple Store at Crabtree Valley Mall blamed on Raleigh man

Police say 21-year-old Thomas Lee Reddick went to an Apple store five times is two weeks and stole $9,200 worth of high-end headphones, twice threatening store employees with a knife.

Crabtree Valley Mall police arrested Reddick on Thursday after, they charged, he had stolen seven pairs of Dr. Dre Beats headphones and threatened an employee at the store there.

The thefts began Aug. 29.

Reddick, who lives on Ikes Pond Lane in Raleigh, also was charged with assaulting a cop by throwing a punch that required eight stitches in the officer’s chin.

According to the charges police that mall police filed, Reddick took 28 pairs of headphones, which police valued at between $320 and $350 per pair.

Reddick was charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of felony larceny, one misdemeanor count of assault on a company police officer, and five counts of second-degree trespassing because a mall security officer had told him in the past to stay away.

A magistrate set Reddick’s bail at $500,000 and ordered him to stay out of the mall.

Reddick was held pending a court appearance.
