An Alamance County man died Thursday morning in a crash on the Durham Freeway.

Jeremy Holsclaw, 34, of Haw River, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox northbound around 9:30 a.m. Thursday when the SUV went off the road and crashed into the back of an unoccupied flatbed truck, Durham police said in a news release.

The truck was parked out of the freeway’s travel lanes, police said.

Investigators do not believe Holsclaw was speeding or impaired, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A ramp near Briggs Avenue was closed for hours Thursday after the crash.
