Witnessing a crime and reporting it can be just as frightening as being the victim of a crime. Here’s what you should do if you witness illegal activity.

A Raleigh man is charged with fatally stabbing his 39-year-old brother Sunday.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office responded to an apartment in the 1400 block of Creech Road in Garner, where they found Carlton Maurice Ruffin with an apparent stab wound, according to a news release. He died on the way to a hospital, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies found the victim’s brother, Larry Lester Ruffin, 40, in the apartment and charged him with murder, the news release said.

“According to a witness, the suspect came to the residence to repair a video game system and the two men got into an argument,” the news release says.

The apartment is in the Sheriff’s Office’s jurisdiction, department spokesman Eric Curry said by email.

No bail is listed in Larry Lester Ruffin’s court records.
