Wake school board will vote on a return to classrooms. How to watch tonight’s meeting.

The Wake County school board will hold a special virtual meeting tonight to discuss and vote on the return of in-person instruction.

The meeting will stream online Tuesday (Sept. 29) at 6 p.m. through the Wake County Public School System YouTube channel.

During the meeting, the board will vote on a plan to begin bringing students back for limited in-person classes on Oct. 26 with elementary students transitioning to daily, in-person classes Nov. 16.

School employees are apprehensive about the prospect of in-person instruction so soon. In surveys, principals in particular say they don’t want to bring students back before January.
