Free Christmas gifts

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, Greater Vision Worship Center invites children ages 4-18 to come to the church and choose a free Christmas gift for their parents. While children pick out gifts, the church, at 720 Second Ave. in Smithfield, will offer food and festivities for parents.

Gospel sing in Selma

The Redeemed will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at Faith Baptist Church, l204 Ricks Road, Selma.

Boston butts, holiday event at New Zealand

The Brotherhood of New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church is selling Boston butts for $25. They will be available for pickup between 4 and 7 p.m. Nov. 25. To place an order, call 919-291-3899 or 252-885-2734. A Holiday Extravaganza is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the church, 5312 Meadowbrook Road in the Meadow community.

Cantata in Wilson’s Mills

Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church will present the cantata “Light, Out of the Darkness” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at the church, 652 Swift Creek Road, Smithfield.

Christmas play, cantata

A performance of the play “Felix Finds Christmas” is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Burnell Baptist Church, 3720 Old School Road, Four Oaks. The church will present a Christmas cantata at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.

JOY in Smithfield

The JOY Connection of First Presbyterian Church in Smithfield will meet at noon Thursday, Dec. 3, in the fellowship hall. A representative of Our State magazine will speak. To attend, call 919-934-0988. The church is at 215 S. Third St.

Thanksgiving meal

First Baptist Church in Smithfield will serve a free Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, in the ministry center, 125 S. Fourth St. Also, the church will deliver meals to the homebound. For delivery, call the church office at 919-934-9771 on Nov. 23.

Thanksgiving service

A Thanksgiving service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Stones Creek Advent Christian Church, 343 Woods Crossroads, Benson. An inspirational program will follow a covered-dish meal.

Christmas event

A hanging of Christmas greenery is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, in the fellowship hall at Horne Memorial United Methodist Church, 121 E. Second St., Clayton. This year’s event will begin with a decorating party, then move to the sanctuary for a devotional and tree lighting. In addition to refreshments, those attending will have the chance to make their own advent wreath.

Programs, services

This month, Prevailing Word Church International is offering prayers and gifts for veterans. The church, which worships at 11 a.m. Sundays, is at 108 Professional Court, Garner.
