An all-you-can-eat pancake supper is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Elevation United Methodist Church, 5101 Elevation Road, Benson. The cost is $6 and includes pancakes, sausage, grits and beverage.
At 6 p. m. Wednesdays, Faith Baptist Church in Selma hosts meals for children. Bible study for kids follows at 6:30. Parents are welcomed to attend. The church is at 204 Ricks Road.
A barbecue competition will take place March 11-12 at First Baptist Church, 411 N. Fayetteville St., Clayton. Twelve professional teams will compete. For $10, the public can sample barbecue from each team and then vote for a favorite. Twelve certified judges will also weigh in. Proceeds will go to summer missions. A spaghetti dinner is scheduled from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at Believers Baptist Church, 10 Southerland Road, Clayton. Plates are $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and younger.

Good Samaritan United Church of Christ has moved from Selma to The Clayton Center, 111 E. Second St., Smithfield. Worship is at 9 a.m. Sundays, with fellowship following. Christian education is at 11 a.m. The church’s youth group meets two Sundays a month, and a special-needs youth group meets during the week. The church made the move in part because The Clayton Center is easily accessible to the handicapped.
Plates of barbecued chicken will be on sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Amelia Christian Church, 1696 Amelia Church Road, Clayton. Plates are $8 and include half a chicken, boiled potatoes, green beans and hush puppoes. Homemade desserts will be on sale. Takeout will be available.
