Police arrested 26-year-old Azam Khan on Wednesday afternoon at a bank that they said he had just robbed.
An alarm from the First Citizens Bank branch at 10010 Green Level Church Road brought police cars shortly before 3 p.m.
When officers got there, they said, Khan, of 402 Lantern Ridge Lane, was still there and was arrested.
Police said Khan had some type of weapon, but an arrest warrant charged him with common law robbery, a charge usually brought in cases of unarmed theft.
The warrant charged that Khan took currency and put a bank employee “in fear of bodily harm.” The money was recovered at the scene.
Khan was being held at the Wake County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
