Wake County schools Superintendent Tony Tata urged parents on Friday to take part in an online survey on the new student assignment plan.
Tata said the survey results will be analyzed over the summer to help learn how to serve families better. This was the first year in which, instead of tying a school assignment to a specific address, families were asked to request from a list of school choices where they wanted to attend.
Wake is looking to hear from the families of the more than 20,000 students who applied this year and from the vast majority of families who decided to stay at their current school.
School officials say the responses will be kept confidential and not shared with your child’s school.
