Academy Street was a sight to behold Saturday morning for the second annual Breakfast in Bed Race.
Teams gathered to push beds, made of various materials, down the street.
But they were in wacky and creative costumes with catchy team names, like “Breaking Bed.”
The event raised money for the Caring Community Foundation, which has distributed more than $1.5 million over 14 years to cancer patients in the Triangle. The money assists those going through treatment with rent, utilities, medicine, groceries, medicine and transportation.
