Faith notes: May 6

Classes

The Cary Church of Christ will hold a Bible class called “The Longest Day: An In-depth Look at the Last 24 Hours of the Life of Christ” at 9:30 a.m. Sundays at 6640 Tryon Road. Another class called “Answering Atheism” will be at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Both classes will last until the end of May.

Concerts

Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church will hold Concerts for a Cause at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at 200 High Meadow Drive, Cary. Featuring classical selections, hymns, jazz and more with Dr. Kent Foss and Dr Larry Abernathy. Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity. The community-based Cary Children’s Concert Choir will celebrate its 12th year by presenting a free concert entitled “Together We Sing: Hope Peace and Unity” at 7 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Greenwood Forest Baptist Church, 110 S.E. Fundraisers

Abiding Presence Lutheran Church will hold its second annual ChoirFest at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 6, at 7300 Sunset Lake Road, Fuquay-Varina. Choirs from many local churches will offer a musical variety, from gospel to folk, a cappella singers and small group ensembles. An offering will go to Southern Wake Faith Community in Action to help those in emergency financial distress in the community.

The Salem Baptist Church College and Young Career Class will hold a Golf Tournament Fundraiser for its Haiti Mission Trip from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 19 at Knight’s Play Golf Center, 2512 Ten Ten Road, Apex. Support groups

Holly Springs United Methodist Church holds “There is a Solution” Alcoholics Anonymous group meetings from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at 108 Avent Ferry Road.
