N.C. Symphony’s Summerfest Series continues July 6

The N.C. Symphony’s outdoor concerts, the Rex Healthcare Summerfest Series, begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary. Concert-goers can bring picnics, blankets and lawn chairs as early as 5 p.m.

The last show in the series will be a “Classics Celebration “ on Saturday, July 6.

‘Meet the Artisans: Needle Art in America’

Members of the Gifted Hands of Cary Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America will discuss thread-based art techniques at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at the Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex; and 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at the West Regional Library, 4000 Louis Stephens Drive, Cary. Starlight Concert Series

The town of Cary will continue its 15th annual Starlight Concert Series at 7 p.m. Friday, July 12 and 26, in the garden at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop. Performers include:

• July 12: Ricardo Diquez and the Tropic Orchestra



• July 26: Jamrock

Concerts

Vocalist Laura Ridgeway will perform American favorites at noon Sunday, July 14, at the Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex; and 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at the West Regional Library, 4000 Louis Stephens Drive, Cary.

Apex Jazz Festival

The Apex Downtown Business Association will hold its third annual Apex Jazz Festival on Saturday, Sept. 21, in downtown Apex. Performances will be featured in a variety of outdoor and indoor venues along Salem Street. There will be a beer garden in conjunction with an outdoor stage located on the Apex Chamber of Commerce property. Tickets are $10.

Sponsors and volunteers are also needed for the festival. Sponsors should contact Sue Mooney at 919-608-6532 or sue-m@nc.rr.com. Volunteers should contact Melissa Van at 919-303-3345 or Melissa@aabsinc.com.
