Food truck rally, movie

Green Level Baptist Church holds its Community Food Truck Rally and Movie Night from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at the church, 8509 Green Level Church Road, Cary. Free admission. The event will feature live music, bounce houses, food trucks and more. An outdoor showing of the film “The Peanuts Movie” is at 6:30 p.m. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket. St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School, 810 High House Road, Cary, holds its middle school admissions open house from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2. The chorus of White Plains Methodist Church performs the world premiere of “A Light Shines in the Darkness” at the 8:30 a.m. service Sunday, Nov. 6, at the church, 313 SE Maynard Road, Cary. Michael John Trotta, who commissioned the piece for the chorus, will attend. wpumc.com

Book fair

The Methodist Children's Center of First United Methodist Church Cary holds its annual Scholastic book fair from 8:45-9:45 a.m. and noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, to Thursday, Nov. 10, in Room 118 of the Templeton Building, 121 Waldo St., Cary. Election Day service

Concert of Thanks

The Music Ministry of First United Methodist Church Cary presents a Concert of Thanks at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, in the sanctuary of the church, 117 S. Academy St. The handbell choir and other musicians are scheduled to perform. The concert will include songs related to Thanksgiving and general songs of praise and thanks. Toy, clothing collection

Greater Life Ministries collects toys and clothes to give to homeless and needy families. The organization also collects household items, furniture, clothing and more. Food pantry

The Point Church food pantry offers free groceries, a hot meal and clothing from 11 a.m. to noon Saturdays at 1503 Walnut St., Cary, and 1402 E. Williams St., Apex.
