N.C. State football players talk about faith

N.C. State football players Jack Tocho and Jalan McClendon will speak about their faith at the 10 a.m. service Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Mission Valley theater, 2109 Avent Ferry Road #124, Raleigh. The Point Church hosts annual presentations by N.C. State University college football players.

Earth Sabbath Celebration

Good Shepherd United Church of Christ’s Earth Sabbath Celebration is 6:30-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at 1050 NW Maynard Road, Cary. There will be prayer, music, readings, kids’ activities and a reflection on “Praised Be: On the Care of Our Common Home.”

Semillas de Amor

Organizers of White Plains United Methodist Church and Luz del Pueblo’s Semillas de Amor tutoring program are looking for tutors, substitute tutors and nursery volunteers. Genesis United Methodist Church’s Christmas Shopping Spree craft show is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at 850 High House Road, Cary.

Vendor registration is open. Registration for a six-foot table is $40 ($30 for Genesis United Methodist Church members) and electrical outlets are $10.

Fan collections

Greater Life Ministries collects fans and air conditioning window units for those in need. The ministry regularly collects toys, household items, furniture, clothing and more. Food pantry

The Point Church food pantry offers free groceries, a hot meal and clothing from 11 a.m. to noon Saturdays at 1503 Walnut St., Cary, and 1402 E. Williams St., Apex.

Soul Yoga

Gentle stretching and yoga sessions will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Westwood Baptist Church, 200 Westhigh St., Cary. Sessions are open to the public for $5. Bring a mat.

Regeneration Addiction Support Group

Good Hope Baptist Church will host confidential Regeneration Addiction Support Group meetings for adults affected by any addiction, their friends and family members at 7 p.m. Mondays in FLC room 110 at 6628 Good Hope Baptist Church Road, Cary.

Family support ministry meeting

A family support ministry organized by Mary Williams-Farrington and the Pardoned by Christ Ministry meets the first, second and fourth Tuesday of every month at The Point Church, 1503 Walnut St., Cary.
