Cary First Christian Church announces new pastor

The Cary First Christian Church has announced the appointment of new pastor Rev. Mycal Brickhouse. He has previously served as an associate minister in Fayetteville, Sanford, Durham and Burlington.

He is a Master of Divinity student at Duke University. Last year, he was a Fellow of the Black Theology and Leadership Institute at Princeton Theological Seminary and a Fellow of the Millennial Leaders Project Summer Conference at Union Theological Seminary.

Fish fry

White Plains United Methodist Church’s Lenten Fish Fry is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 18, at 313 SE Maynard Road, Cary. Each plate, dine-in or take-out, is $9.

Infertility support group

A support group for those coping with infertility or considering adoption or reproductive medicine meets at 10:30 a.m. the third Saturday of each month, starting on March 19, at the West Regional Library, 4000 Louis Stephens Drive, Cary. The group is hosted by the Waiting Hearts Foundation.,

Easter egg hunts

▪ Ambassador Presbyterian Church’s community Easter Festival and Egg Hunt is 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at 1010 Schieffelin Road, Apex. There will be an Easter egg hunt for ages 12 and younger, inflatables, carnival games and prizes and lunch. If it rains, the event will be on Saturday, March 26.

▪ Sunrise United Methodist Church’s Easter Egg Hunt will be 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at 5420 Sunset Lake Road, Holly Springs.

Prayer for Pastors’ Wives

Pastors’ wives of all Christian denominations are invited to meet for prayer from 9:30-11 a.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month, February through May, at Ambassador Presbyterian Church, 1010 Schieffelin Road, Apex. 919-249-0230,,

Purple Cloth 5K

The Purple Cloth 5K fundraiser for Dorcas Ministries, hosted by Genesis United Methodist Church, will be on Saturday, May 7.

Grief/Divorce Support Meetings

Triangle Marriage and Family Life Center hosts GriefShare and DivorceCare groups from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturdays at 3761 NW Cary Parkway, Suite 102, Cary. 919-267-6747.

Toy, clothing collection

Greater Life Ministries is collects toys and clothes to give to homeless and needy families. The organization also collects household items, furniture, clothing and more. Food pantry

The Point Church food pantry offers free groceries, a hot meal and clothing from 11 a.m. to noon Saturdays at 1503 Walnut St., Cary, and 1402 E. Williams St., Apex.
