Cary hosts a public meeting on new rezoning applications at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Chambers, 316 N. Academy St.
The town’s staff members will give information on the rezoning process for applicants and nearby property owners before public hearings.
Thrift 2 Gift’s story time for families is at 11 a.m. Thursdays at 1402 E. Williams St., Apex.
Garland Mason performs in Cary’s Live at Lunch concert series from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ivey Ellington House, 135 W. Chatham St.
Cary Area Emergency Medical Services’ Citizens’ Academy will be from Thursday, April 7, through Thursday, April 28. Class participants will learn about EMS, learn CPR, tour a 911 communication center and observe an ambulance for a shift. Classes are from 6:30-10:30 p.m. April 7, 14, 21 and 28. East Chatham Street in downtown Cary will be reduced to one lane from Monday, March 21, to Tuesday, March 29, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be delays between Walker Street and Ward Street. The closure is necessary to allow crews to install water lines. Flaggers will direct East Chatham Street traffic through the work area.
