Public Service Center opens
Fuquay-Varina will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to mark the grand opening of the town’s new Public Service Center, 1415 Holland Road. Tours will be available.

Hob Nob Jazz Series
Yolanda Rabun performs at 5:45 p.m. as part of the Hob Nob Jazz Series at Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary. Tickets are $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under. Wind Down Wednesdays
The Magic Pipers Band kicks off the Wind Down Wednesdays free outdoor concert series from 6-9 p.m. at Waverly Place shopping center, 575 New Waverly Place, Cary. The series runs through July 27.

Run the Quay
The Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce’s annual Run the Quay is from 7-10 a.m. beginning at the Fuquay-Varina Presbyterian Church, 307 N. Ennis St. The race through downtown will include a 5K, 10K, the 15 Quay Challenge and a children’s fun run.

Cary hosts Dog Days of June from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Field 6 at Bond Park, 801 High House Road. The event will feature pet adoptions, a dog wash and pet vaccinations and microchipping by local veterinarians. The free Skyhoundz Canine Frisbee Disc Competition also will be held. All pets attending must be leashed or in a kennel.

Bike safety rodeo
The Morrisville Fire and Rescue Department is presenting a free bike safety rodeo beginning at 10 a.m. at Fire Station 1, 200 Town Hall Drive. The event is for toddlers to age 18. Sessions will be held at 10 a.m, 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and will feature bike safety techniques and an obstacle course.

‘Artify: Arts in Parks’
“Artify: The Arts in Parks” is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary. The free event, a celebration of National Trails Day, is part of a series commemorating the 100th anniversary of North Carolina parks.
Participants can walk the Symphony Lake Greenway with members of the Town of Cary’s Greenways and Cultural Arts committees to learn more about nature and culture. Stations along the trail will feature visual and performing arts, dramatic readings, arts activities for children and adults, and the North Carolina Symphony rehearsal for its Summerfest performance later that evening.
The Holly Springs Police Department is hosting a fundraiser cookout for Special Olympics from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside Lowes Foods, 112 Bass Lake Road.
