Alice C. (Costello) Dougherty, 83, of Plymouth Meeting, dies Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Lankenau Hospital of Lower Merion Township. Wife of the late Edward B. Dougherty, Jr. Born in Philadelphia, on August 12, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Margaret (Heman) and Patrick Costello. Alice has been living in Plymouth Meeting since 1965, formerly of Bala Cynwyd, Pa and the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia where she was born and raised. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church of Plymouth Meeting. She was a graduate of Little Flower High School. Alice was a home maker and also worked as a teachers aid with Pennsylvania Intermediate Unit in Norristown. Alice was a member of St. Joseph's Prep Mother's Club.
Alice is survived by her children, Timothy Dougherty of Ambler, Kathleen Dougherty of Plymouth Meeting, Terence (& his wife Lisbet) Dougherty of Bala Cynwyd, Nancy (& her husband James) Wyatt of Natick, MA, Charles (& his wife Shannon) Dougherty of Cary, NC, Peggy Dougherty-Hayes of Califon, NJ, and Carol Ann (& her husband Robert) Hackman of Ardmore; 27 grandchildren & a great grandson.
Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Edward B. Dougherty, IIIl two brothers, The Rev. Fr. Charles Costello and Joseph Costello; and a sister, Anne Marie Costello.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10:30 AM from the Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church, 3050 Walton & Townshipline Road, Plymouth Meeting. Clergy: Fr. William J. Byron Fr. And Joseph J. Quindlen officiating.
Friends may call Sunday Evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, and Monday Morning from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Church. Interment will be private in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
