Margaret Ann Renegar Barile died June 14, 2012, after several months of declining health. She was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Havre de Grace, Md., the only child of the late Rev. George Dallas Renegar of Harmony, NC, (Iredell Co.), and Florence Estelle Borneman of Baltimore, Md.
She attended Harmony schools before receiving an Associate degree from Mars Hill (NC) College, a Bachelor of Arts from Coker College (Hartsville, SC), and a Master of Library Science from UNC-Chapel Hill. Margaret Ann was a librarian and teacher in Nanjemoy, Md., a librarian with the U.S. Civil Service, Andersen Air Force Base on Guam, and a teacher at Union Grove (NC) school. After moving to Cary in the early 1970s, she was a librarian and teacher in the Wake County schools until her retirement. A long-time member of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church (Cary), she was media center librarian for many years. She also was a member of the Cary Area EMS Auxiliary.
Margaret is survived by three sons, John Dallas (Suzy) of Harmony, Darryl F. (Jana) of Cary, and Russell D. (Lisa) of Woodbridge, Va.; eight grandchildren, Jen Brett (Los Angeles, Calif.), Christopher, Alex, Sarah, Julia, and Abigail Barile of Cary, and Marisa and Matthew Barile of Woodbridge, Va.; and many cousins in Iredell and Yadkin counties.
Visitation is 2:30-4 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m., Sunday, June 17, at Greenwood Forest Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to Cary Area EMS, Hospice of Wake County, or Greenwood Forest Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
