Burlin Lowry, son of Burleigh and Pearlie Lowry of Pembroke died Feb. 26th.
He was born June 6, 1929. After graduation from Pembroke High School, Burlin served in the Navy aboard the USS Manchester. After graduating from Western Kentucky University, he was a fighter pilot in the Air Force. He then worked for Progress Energy.
Preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Burlin is survived by wife, Janet Barnes Lowry of Pinehurst; sons Stuart and wife Dena of Garner and Steve Lowry and daughter Cari Whittington of Cary; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brothers Oceanus and Lycurous Lowry and sisters Eurania Stearsman and Odessa Cobb all of Pembroke.

A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday, March 1st at 2:00 p.m. at the Village Chapel in Pinehurst. Burial was private.
Memorial contributions may be given to Habitat for Humanity of the NC Sandhills or to the church or charity of your choice.
