Margaret Mary Johnson Hood passed away Feb. 3rd in Silver Spring, Maryland. She was born in 1929 in Shaker Heights, Ohio, the child of Rowland and Myrtle Johnson and the sister of Helen Johnson Tupper. After earning a BSEd degree from Bowling Green State University, she taught kindergarten in Cleveland. In 1954, Marg married Richard Hood and together they raised four children. Marg was active in the Dutch Reformed Church in Woodstock, New York, and the White Plains Methodist Church in Cary, North Carolina, and in her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta. She enjoyed wide-ranging activities such as gardening, needlework, tap-dancing, golf, and bridge. Marg is survived by 4 children: Ginny (Robert Peters), of Sunnyside, NY; Susan (Ed Grippe), of Pawling, NY; Richard, of Washington, DC; and Beth, of Silver Spring, along with six grandchildren, four nieces, and two nephews. Those who love Marg will miss her kind heart, sense of fun, appreciation of beauty, and genteel nature. A memorial service is planned for Feb. 20th at 2:00, at the White Plains Methodist Church in Cary, NC.
