Apex Friendship High. Good grief. Enough already. I’m a resident of Apex and think the coverage of the new multi-million dollar school has been great but excessive. I really don’t need, nor want to read a minute-by-minute rundown of Principal Matt Wight’s first day. (“Apex Friendship starts a brand new day,” Aug. 30).
How about some coverage on some of the area’s other new schools? Scotts Ridge Elementary, for example. I have a student at Southern Wake Academy in Holly Springs, which just opened a brand new multi-million dollar building. The new school is first class, and the staff is exceptional. Director Dave Thomas is a student-oriented leader with unprecedented skill. The school focuses on leadership and community service. The school is award winning and deserves public applause. Not to mention the athletics.
I really enjoy reading Southwest Wake News and think it’s a missed opportunity not to expand the current coverage of the handful of schools the paper focuses on. I look forward to seeing more coverage of our area’s awesome schools.
