Green Hope at Cary
Crosstown foes Green Hope (4-1) and Cary (0-4) meet with both teams trending in different directions. Three of Green Hope’s games have been decided by two points or less, but the Falcons have all of them. Cary has not scored in its previous two games, both 48-0 losses.
Head-to-head: Cary leads all-time series 9-5.
Holly Springs at Fuquay-Varina
Rivals Fuquay-Varina (2-2) and Holly Springs (3-1) are each coming off victories heading into their SWAC opener. Remember how Holly Springs had never gotten off to a fast start in nonconference football? That has changed. The Golden Hawks are 3-1 for the first time in school history. Fuquay-Varina has proven it won’t go away easily no matter the opponent.
Head-to-head: Fuquay leads all-time series 4-3.
Cardinal Gibbons at Cedar Ridge
Gibbons (3-1) kicks off Big Eight Conference play against the Red Wolves (2-2) in Hillsborough. Cedar Ridge running back Julius Walton averages 90.5 yards rushing. Three of the Crusaders’ games this year have been decided by single digits.
Head-to-head: Gibbons leads all-time series 7-4.
Community Christian at Cary Christian
The Knights (0-4) welcome first-year program Community Christian (0-4) out of Wilson as both teams search for their first win.
Head-to-head: First meeting.
