• It was a good week to be a Crusader. Cardinal Gibbons’ volleyball and girls tennis rolled on to the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs. Gibbons defeated Cleveland 3-0 on Tuesday and Eastern Alamance 3-0 on Thursday. For those full game stories, including how volleyball did Saturday, go to nando.com/preps. The girls golf team won the 3A Central regional. The boys soccer team finished runner-up in the Big Eight Conference, falling to Chapel Hill (full story also on nando.com/preps).
