The Green Hope boys golf team, led by conference coach of the year Michael Robinson, entered the 18-hole conference tournament Monday at Crooked Creek in Fuquay-Varina as the clear favorite. And after taking first place in seven of nine regular season matches, the Falcons came through again Monday, edging the field by six strokes.
All-conference selections Min Chung Kim, Will Thomas, Zack Daltorio and Mike Siek led a balanced Green Hope lineup all season, and each tallied scores of 78 or lower in the conference tourney.
Host Middle Creek took second place with a team score of 309, while Athens Drive shot a 311 to finish third. Fuquay-Varina was fourth with a 324, followed by Holly Springs and Apex, who tied for fifth with 329 apiece.
Joining Green Hope’s four all-conference selections are Tim Conover (player of the year) and Jake Stone of Holly Springs, Zach Smith of Apex, Seth Meade and Kevin Campbell of Athens Drive, Nick Ciampa and Barrett Fitzmorris of Cary, and Chad Johnson of Middle Creek.

Johnson took medalist honors with a score of 67 Monday.
Garrett Simmons and Jeremy Keyes of Athens Drive and Adam Fecteau of Fuquay-Varina earned all-conference honorable mention.
Green Hope, Holly Springs, Athens Drive and Cary all qualified for the 4A Mideast regional hosted by the Raleigh Country Club, which is on May 7. Johnson will join Smith of Apex, along with Fecteau and Josh Davis of Fuquay, as the individuals participating in the regional.
