The Hampton Inn and 300 East Main Street businesses will host an afternoon open house centered around the Disney movie “Frozen.” The film will be shown at 2pm with free popcorn, hot chocolate and coffee and characters from the movie will be on hand for photos. Children and their parents can participate in hands-on crafts and games and carolers will be strolling through the site. This is a benefit for TABLE so all patrons are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item.

•

Town Hall Tree Lighting: 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12

The Town of Carrboro will light their tree at Town Hall with carolers and holiday cheer. Join in the festivities then take in the 2nd Friday Artwalk that evening.

•

Holiday Parade and Carrboro Cares: All day, Saturday, Dec. 13

Start your day at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday Parade, which begins at 10am and ends in Carrboro at 12 noon. Carrboro offers free parking and many places to watch the parade, with area businesses open to warm up, eat and drink and get some holiday shopping done. Saturday, December 14th is also Carrboro Cares, a day-long event pairing local businesses with local charities. Shop or dine at participating businesses and know that 5% of the sale will go to a local charity. Check localcarrboro.com for a list of participating businesses and their charity. Support your local community by shopping and dining in Carrboro!

For more information on these events and to learn more about what to do in Carrboro, please visit www.localcarrboro.com. The new website will be updated with participating businesses and more information on all Carrboro Cheer events in the coming weeks.
