Police charged a Chatham County man and woman with a bank robbery this week on Millstone Drive.
Rebecca Amy Stasko, 27, of 3259 Chatham Church Road in Moncure, turned herself in Thursday and was charged with felony common-law robbery, Hillsborough Police Investigator Jason Winn said. She was released from the Orange County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
Kelly Lashaun Wiley, 37, of 4093 N.C. 42 in Goldston, was arrested in Chatham County early Friday morning and charged with three felony counts of common-law robbery. He also was charged with bank robberies at a First Citizens Bank in Apex and a bank in Graham, Winn said.
Wiley is being held in the Chatham County Detention Center under $300,000 bail.
Reports show the Hillsborough Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to the robbery shortly after 11 a.m. Monday at the CommunityOne Bank at 102 Millstone Drive in Hillsborough.
Surveillance footage shows a hooded, masked man wearing gloves walking through the bank. Investigators said he did not appear to have a weapon and did not give the bank tellers a note. The man fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, they reported.
The departments worked with the FBI and the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office to crack the case.
