Police blotter for Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough and Orange County

Carrboro

▪ Penny Denise Allen, 49, of 6124 Southwind Drive, Mebane was charged July 14 with felony forgery and two counts of felony embezzlement, police reported.

▪ Allie Logan McFarling, 40, of 106 Cobblestone Drive was charged July 12 with felony failure to appear, police reported.

▪ Police reported a burglary at a home on the 600 block of Oak Avenue July 2 just after 10 p.m. in which a back window was forced open to enter but no property taken.

▪ Police reported break-ins to:

– a home on the 800 block of Old Fayetteville Road July 9.

– a home on the 100 block of Fidelity Street between July 3 and July 6 in which a window was tampered with in an attempt to enter.

– a home on the 100 block of Pine Hill Drive July 3 in which a window was forced open to enter and steal property.

Chapel Hill

▪ Lawrence Maurice Williams, 30, of 205 Conner Drive Apt 17 was charged July 12 with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor impaired driving, police reported.

▪ James Horace Grace, 34, of 501 N.C. 54 Bypass B7, Carrboro was charged July 9 with felony assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer and misdemeanor drunk and disruptive, police reported.

▪ Anthony Rashad Peaks, 26, of 322 Junction Road 2B, Durham was charged July 3 with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, felony larceny of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor assault on a female, police reported.

▪ Police reported a burglary at a home on the 700 block of North Colombia Street July 10 around between 1:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in which the unlocked residence was entered and property stolen.

▪ Police reported a burglary at a home on the 700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard July 10 between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in which an unlocked door was used to enter and steal property.

▪ Police reported the larceny of a motorcycle from the home of the victim on the 5600 block of Old Chapel Hill Road July 11.

▪ Police reported break-ins to:

– a home on the 400 block of Sharon Road July 11 in which entrance was gained through an unlocked rear door.

– a home on the 1000 block of U.S. 15 501 South July 5.

– a business on the 1200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard July 5 in which a window was smashed to enter and cigarettes stolen.

– a home on the 700 block of Pritchard Avenue Extension July 3.

– a home on the 100 block of Ephesus Church Road July 3.

– a home on the 100 block of Ephesus Church Road July 2.

Orange County

▪ Collin Morris Smith, 37, was charged July 14 with felony fugitive from another state, the sheriff’s office reported.

▪ Chapel Hill police charged Anthony Rashad Peaks, 26, July 14 with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and misdemeanor assault on a female, the sheriff’s office reported.

▪ Chan Yamar Lindsey Owens, 19, was charged July 13 with attempted first-degree murder, felony assault with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun, the sheriff’s office reported.

▪ Travon Deshawn Brooks, 20, was charged July 13 with felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor larceny, the sheriff’s office reported.

▪ Tristan Allen Houser, 29, was charged July 12 with felony failure to appear, the sheriff’s office reported.

▪ Phillip Joseph Morgan, 39, was charged July 12 with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny of a firearm, the sheriff’s office reported.

▪ Christopher Lee Smith, 27, was charged July 7 with felony larceny, misdemeanor larceny, violation of a domestic violence protective order and misdemeanor resisting arrest, the sheriff’s office reported.

▪ Crystal Ann Bryant, 34, was charged July 7 with felony failure to appear, the sheriff’s office reported.

▪ Terrence William Thomas, 40, was charged July 7 with felony trafficking opium or heroin, the sheriff’s office reported.

▪ Mario Decenti Davis, 36, was charged July 5 with felony failure to appear, the sheriff’s office reported.

▪ Donald Roy Smith, 69, was charged July 1 with numerous felonies including first-degree sex offense with a child, attempted second-degree rape, statutory rape and indecent liberties, the sheriff’s office reported.
