Chapel Hill: Celebrations


Margaret Marie West and Hudson Laney Vaughan were united in marriage on October 18, 2014 at 5:30 in the afternoon at Bethel Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, N.C. with the groom's father Reverend William Vaughan officiating. A reception followed at the Barn at Valhalla where on Friday evening, a rehearsal dinner was held, hosted by the groom's parents.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Howard West of Raleigh, N. C. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Elwood West of Raleigh, N. C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Haig Faucette of Burlington, N. C.

The groom is the son of Reverend William Vaughan, III and Joni Laney Vaughan of Memphis, TN. He is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. William Vaughan, II of Jackson, TN and Dr. and Mrs. James Laney of Atlanta, GA.

The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her parents. Calleigh Rose West, sister of the bride served as Maid of Honor. The bride's attendants were Audrey Clare Boyles of Chapel Hill, N. C. , Swathi Marie Sekar of Miami, FL ,both friends of the bride and the bride's brothers Bennett Floyd West of Wilmington, N. C., and Samuel Kenneth Hamilton West of Raleigh, N. C. The bride's cousins, Sutton West Godwin served as flower girl and Cooper Downey served as ring bearer. Scripture Readers were

The groom's friend, John Wilson Irwin of Greensboro, N. C. served as best man. The groom's attendants were Ruth Laney Vaughan of Boston, MA, sister of the groom, David Thomas Laney Vaughan and James William Laney Vaughan, brothers of the groom, both of Memphis, TN, along with friends of the groom Davy Pollock of Chattanooga, TN and Jason Bell of Memphis, TN.

The bride graduated from Needham Broughton High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors degree in Public Policy. She is Program Coordinator of the Community Empowerment Fund in Chapel Hill, N. C. The groom graduated from Memphis Central High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors degree in History. He is Director of Programs at the Jackson Center in Chapel Hill, N. C. Following a honeymoon on Dewees Island, S. C., the couple will make their home in Carrboro,N.C.
