Tyler Shambley Riley and Kurt Gleason Brinner were married at five in the evening on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at The Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill. The Reverend Tambria E. Lee officiated. Following the ceremony, the wedding reception was held at The Carolina Inn. On Friday evening the parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner and wedding eve celebration.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Catherine Shambley Riley and the late Mr. Bobby Paterson Riley, junior of Chapel Hill. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lee Shambley of Efland. The bride is a graduate of East Chapel Hill High School and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a Digital Marketing Manager for Comcast.
The groom is the son of Doctor and Mrs. Richard Allan Brinner of Knoxville, TN. He is the grandson of Dr. Albert H. Gleason of Winter Garden, FL and the late Mrs. Georgia H. Gleason, and of the late Mr. Harold A. Brinner and the late Alita M. Brinner of St. Louis, MO. He is a graduate of Webb School of Knoxville and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In May, the groom completed his M.B.A. from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania. Starting in October, the groom will be employed at Bain & Company in Atlanta, GA.
The bride was escorted by her grandfather and presented in marriage by her family. Laura Elizabeth Piggott of Raleigh, North Carolina served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alston Armfield Daigh of New York, NY; Katherine Stuart Ehringhaus of New York, NY; Ashley Elizabeth Harden, cousin of the bride, of Denver, CO; Jessica Marie Harden, cousin of the bride, of Fort Mill, SC; Virginia Mabon Knott of New York, NY; Hillary Harper Molitor of D.C.; Whitney Christine Player of Charlotte; Statia Gelling Thompson of Charlotte and Elizabeth Blair Ward of Greenville. Greeters were Arabelle Caroline Fedora of New York, NY and Margaret Anne McArver of Charlotte. Michelle Ralat Brinner, sister-in-law of the groom, of Tampa, FL and Marion Wooten Peebles IV of Charlotte were readers.
The groom's brother, Scott Allan Brinner of Tampa, FL, served as the best man.
