Yoga class

Dr. John Pucher will speak on “Making Chapel Hill a Sustainable Community: Walking, Cycling and Transit” from 3-5 p.m. at the Chapel Hill Public Library, 100 Library Drive.

Jonathan Odell

A Meet-The-Author Tea with Jonathan Odell, author of “Miss Hazel and the Rosa Parks League,” from 3-5 p.m. in meeting room B of the Chapel Hill Public Library, 100 Library Drive.

Chess Club

Chess players are invited to the Orange County Main Library from 6-7 p.m. Thursdays on the second floor of the library at 137 W. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough. If you plan to time games, bring your own clock or timer. Ages 10 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Vigil Against Violence

The 23rd Annual Vigil Against Violence, held to honor and remember victims of homicide, will be at 7 p.m. at The Shepherd’s House United Methodist Church, 107 N. Driver St., Durham.

Farmers’ markets

The Chapel Hill Farmers’ Market is open from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday at 201 S. Estes Drive.

Excel Basics
