Arlene received her BA from City College of New York and advanced degrees from the College of New Jersey and Columbia University.
Arlene was a brilliant educator, having taught in the Matawan (NJ) and West Essex Regional (NJ) school systems, and had been the chair of the English/Creative Writing department in the Millburn, NJ school system. Arlene also developed professional education programs for the New York State Society of CPAs and PriceWaterhouse Coopers. Her work won awards in both New Jersey and North Carolina, and was displayed in the Hickory, NC art museum.
Arlene was a force of nature, and had a zest for life that is matched by very few people. She died following a massive stroke, which she suffered while painting with a group of fellow artists.
