God took Sue on May 31, 2016, 76 years after he lent her to us. Sue was a staple around Carrboro and Chapel Hill for the past 20 years. Her colorful wardrobe and infectious smile could be seen as she played scrabble or Bananagrams with friends, took classes at Duke, shopped the farmer’s market for ingredients for one of her culinary creations, or rode the bus to see a Bulls game or her favorite swing rock band. She was a member of MENSA, a scholarship recipient and graduate of Radcliffe / Harvard & held a Masters in Psychology from the New School in NYC. Born in greater Boston and raised in Newton, MA, Sue spent her young summers in Nova Scotia with family. She was an only child and is survived by her six children and two grandchildren who laughed and played with her just days before she passed. We love you, Nana. A memorial service is scheduled for 2pm on Wed, June 8 at University Presbyterian Church in Chapel Hill, where she was a member and a volunteer for many years. All are welcome.
