The University of North Carolina men’s basketball team will be heading for the NCAA Final Four this week, but that doesn't mean the Smith Center will be sitting idle.
The public can send the Tar Heels on their way to Houston at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, when the North Carolina coaches and players leave from Entrance D of the Smith Center to board their bus to RDU Airport.
North Carolina (32-6) will meet ACC rval Syracuse (23-13) in Houston at 8:49 p.m. (EDT) Saturday in the NCAA semifinals. That game will be preceded by Villanova (33-5) versus Oklahoma (29-7) at 6:09 p.m.
Carolina will offer viewing of both semifinal games on a large projection screen and the Smith Center video boards. Concessions and Carolina Merchandise will be available for purchase.
Entrance A of the Smith Center will be open at 5 p.m. Saturday for UNC students, faculty and staff (with a valid UNC One card). The general publc will be admitted at 5:30 p.m.
Parking will be available for $5 in the Manning, Bowles, Craige and Ramshead parking lots.
Fans arriving early for the televised games can tour the UNC Basketball Museum, which will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
