Skate & Scoot rescheduled to Aug. 10
Due to inclement weather, Chapel Hill Recreation’s “Skate & Scoot” competition has been rescheduled to start at 6 p.m. Aug. 10 at Chapel Hill Skate Park.
Skate & Scoot will be the third stop on the Triangle’s Bangers & Smash Tour. There’s a $15 entry fee to compete, but spectators are admitted free.

Chapel Hill High School’s soccer team will be the first Tigers to take the field this month when they host 4A Riverside’s JVs (6 p.m.) and varsity (7:30 p.m) Tuesday for a pair of scrimmages. Thursday, the soccer team scrimmages Northern Durham’s JVs (6) and varsity (7:30).
Also Thursday, other scrimmages at CHHS include volleyball hosting Panther Creek (3:30 p.m.) and Ravenscroft (5 p.m.), and a football scrimmage at 6:30 p.m. in Culton-Peerman Stadium between Chapel Hill and Apex Friendship.
Fee lax clinic planned for North Chatham
N.C. Youth Lacrosse is planning a free skills clinic to be held 3-4 p.m. on Sept. 18 at Chatham County’s Northeast District Park off Big Woods Road.
It’s open to players of all skill levels, in grades 1 through 6 in Chatham County, and beginners are encouraged to come out to try the sport in a no-cost, low-pressure environment.
NCYL will have sticks and other equipment available for use during the clinic, but anyone with their own gear is welcome to bring it.
