Abortion-recovery series

A Bible-based abortion-recovery series will begin Monday, July 3, at iChoose Pregnancy Support Services, 540 N.C. 42 West, Clayton. The series will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. iChoose helps women and men struggling with the pain of a past abortion by providing individual and small-group Bible-based support in a confidential setting. Consignment sale

Garner United Methodist Church is seeking consignors for its fall Kids Consignment Sale, which will be held Sept. 13-14 in the church’s Christian Life Center at 201 Methodist Drive in Garner. The sale offers clothing, furniture and bedding, infant gear, books, videos, maternity items, athletic equipment and toys. Pancake breakfast at Oakland

A pancake and sausage breakfast is scheduled from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 4, at Oakland Presbyterian Church, 8927 Cleveland Road in the Cleveland community. The all-you-can-eat breakfast is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and younger. Proceeds will benefit the youth and children programs at Oakland. Barbecued chicken in Pine Level

Plates of barbecued chicken will be on sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Pine Level First United Methodist Church on U.S. 70A in Pine Level. The cost is $7 per plate, with takeout available. Proceeds will go to the church’s building fund.

Women’s fellowship

Men’s conference at Galilee

A men’s conference will be held June 21-22 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2017 Galilee Road, Smithfield. Lovell Bryan of BB&T will speak on “Promoting Financial Literacy” at 7 p.m. Friday. Minister Gyasi Patterson, chaplain at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, will also speak Friday. On Saturday, the conference will run from 9 a.m. to noon. The Rev. Quincy Scott, former dean of students at Shaw University’s divinity school, will speak on the “Spirituality of Man.” The Rev. O.D. Sykes, fourth vice president of the General Baptist State Convention, will also speak.
