The Town of Clayton has scheduled a number of Halloween events.
A hayride is set from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Clayton Community Park, 1075 Amelia Church Road. Meet Halloween characters and win prizes while riding around the park’s trail. Wear a costume. The cost is $5 for children 2 and older. Adults ride for free.
A screening of “Halloweentown” is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 28, on Town Square, 110 W. Main St.
This Disney comedy-adventure follows Marnie and her younger siblings as they return with their estranged grandmother to her home in Halloweentown, where witches, goblins, vampires and the like lead very normal lives.
On her 13th birthday, Marnie learns that she comes from a witch family and that she too is a witch. She also discovers that an evil force is plotting to take over Halloweentown, and she must help her mother and grandmother save the day.
Bring blankets, drinks and food. Admission is free.
And come in your costume. The fun starts at 7 p.m. with face painting, games and more. Refreshments, food trucks and other vendors will be available before and during the movie. And new this year, Deep River Brewing Co. will sell its craft beers.
The movie starts at 8 p.m.
A Halloween dance for special-needs middle-schoolers, high school students and adults is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Clayton Community Center, 715 Amelia Church Road. Wear a costume and soft-soled shoes. In addition to dancing, the evening will offer games such as limbo.
Trick-or-treating is scheduled from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, along Main Street in downtown Clayton. Games and goodies will follow on Town Square at the corner of Main and Fayetteville streets.
