Easter services

Here’s the schedule of Easter services at Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church, 652 Swift Creek Road: Passover celebration, 7 p.m. April 2; Good Friday service, 7 p.m. April 3; Easter egg hunt, 10 a.m.-noon April 4; Easter services, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., April 5.

Here’s the schedule for remaining Lenten season services at Horne Memorial United Methodist Church on Second Street in downtown Clayton: Palm Sunday, March 29, with traditional worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. in the sanctuary and a contemporary worship at 9:45 a.m. in the fellowship hall; Maundy Thursday service, 7 p.m. April 2 in the sanctuary; Good Friday service, 7 p.m. April 3 in the sanctuary; Easter Sunday, April 5, with traditional worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. in the sanctuary and a contemporary worship at 9:45 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Gospel music

The Maples Family will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at Hephzibah Baptist Church, 4633 U.S. 70 East, Princeton. Admission is free.

Pork, chicken plates

Plates of barbecued chicken and pork will be on sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Elizabeth United Methodist Church, 4269 Cleveland Road, Smithfield. The cost is $8 per plate, with takeout available.

Programs, services

Revival services are scheduled for 7 p.m. March 16-18 at New Generation Christian Church, 4423 Wilson’s Mills Road, Smthfield. Pastors Blanzie Williams, Tracy Bell and Kenneth Swann will speak.

Overseer E.J. Convington is celebrating his 33rd anniversary as pastor of Mt. Calvary Holiness Church of Deliverance, 114 Lakeview Drive, Four Oaks. Services in his honor are scheduled for 7 p.m. April 23 and 6 p.m. April 24 at the church. For more information, call 919-793-3008.

Evangelist Hattie Lofton of Smithfield will speak at 7:30 p.m. March 16-18 at Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 45 Red Hill Church Road, Clinton.

Revival services are scheduled for 7 p.m. March 18-20 at Hickory Grove Disciples of Christ Church, 5260 Devil’s Racetrack Road, Four Oaks.

The quarterley Bible Church of God Union will take place at 11 a.m. March 28 and 9:45 a.m. March 29 at Jackson Grove Church, 533 J Morgan Road, Rennert.

Pastor Jimmy Frederick of Cedar Grove Church in Princeton will speak at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at Small Chapel Church, 8055 U.S. 701 North, Newton Grove.

The Rev. Robert Hood, pastor of St. Mark Church of Christ in Farrow, will speak at 7:30 p.m. March 18-20 at St. Peter’s Church of Christ, 1011 E. Massey St., Smithfield.

A program titled “The Twelve Tribes of Israel” is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Mitchener Memorial Baptist Church, 911 Blount St., Smithfield.

A celebration of Friends & Family Day will get under way at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, March 29, at Burnell Baptist Church, 3720 Old School Road, Four Oaks. The Watchman Quartet will sing. Lunch will follow the 11 a.m. worship service.

Help for the needy

Wilson’s Mills Advent Christian Church has launched a community ministry, H.E.L.P. Station. H.E.L.P. is short for helping, encouraging, loving and praying. The ministry will guide people to community resources such as food banks and assistance programs. Also, it will help people apply for jobs and direct them to health and wellness sources, including prescription drug programs. Starting March 21, the ministry will be available from 9 to 11 a.m. on the third Saturday of every month at the church, 676 Main St., Wilson’s Mills. Also, people may leave prayer requests in the box near the church sign.

Financial Peace

Starting March 22, Grace Episcopal Church in Clayton will offer Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sundays. The church is at 111 Lee Court. For more information, or to sign up, call Pastor John Gibson at 919-553-2810.

For young people

For moms

Edgerton Memorial United Methodist Church in Selma offers Mother’s Morning Out, a free child-care program. While moms run errands or go to appointments, their children take part in Bible stories, activities, crafts, music and more. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays through May 20.
