A luncheon for women
The Chamber Women’s Business Network will hold its 2015 scholarship luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at the Country Club of Johnston County, 694 Country Club Road, Smithfield. Lori Lee will speak. She is founder of the Me Fine Foundation, which provides support to critically ill children and their families. The cost is $28 for network members and $33 for nonmembers. The Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce will hold its next Coffee Connections from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Friday, April 17, at the chamber office, 1115 Outlet Center Drive, Smithfield. This month's host is Edward Jones financial adviser Don Duggin. Admission is free with a business card.
Studio owners expanding to Wilson
Amanda and Ryan Owens, owners of the Clayton Wine and Design studio, are bringing Wine and Design back to Wilson starting April 17. The studio is at 4916 E. Hayes Place, Wilson.
“Many of our clients who come to the Clayton studio live in Wilson, so we already have an audience of regular customers,” Amanda said. “We also have strong ties to Wilson because my husband is a Barton College alum.”
The former Wilson Wine and Design studio closed in late 2014 when the Wilson franchise owner left the business. The Owenses had been exploring the option of taking over the studio and relocating it since then.
