Johnston County sheriff’s deputies have charged a Clayton teen with killing a man found dying by the side of a Johnston County road late last month.
Deputies arrested Arquile Raeqwon Wilder, 19, of Clayton on April 8 and charged him with first-degree murder.
Around 11:30 p.m. on March 26, a man called 911 to say he had found Dorian Teachey of Dudley on Yelverton Grove Road near Smithfield.
Deputies reported that Teachey, 25, had a gunshot wound to the head and was lying face down and bloody, according to a search warrant.

The 911 caller told deputies he saw an older model SUV driving away from Teachey, the warrant said.
First responders took Teachey to WakeMed in Raleigh, where he died.
According to the warrant, surveillance footage shows Wilder and Teachey together at the Super 8 motel in Smithfield around 11 p.m. on March 26. The footage also shows them talking near an SUV like the one the 911 caller saw driving away from Teachey’s body.
In the footage, Wilder reenters the hotel parking lot in the SUV at 11:36 p.m., according to the warrant. He looks under the left side of the SUV before leaving the parking lot at 11:44 p.m.
Wilder’s court-appointed attorney, Robert Denning, said he had no comment.
Wilder is in the Johnston County jail without the option of posting bail.
