Shayanne N. Martin of Maryland, formerly of Clayton, has earned a master’s degree in public health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
Provost List’s student
Johnathan Fritchle of Clayton has been named to the spring semester Provost’s List at Troy University in Troy, Ala. To qualify, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.65 or higher.
Cleveland High School senior Ray Parker has been named a 2015 Dell Scholar. The Dell Scholars program recognizes students who have overcome significant obstacles to pursue their educations.
In addition to a $20,000 scholarship, Parker will receive a laptop, textbook credits and ongoing support to address the emotional, lifestyle and financial challenges that might arise in college.
Parker is a member of the Cleveland High School AVID program. He plans attend East Carolina University in the fall.

Citadel graduate receives award
Ricardo Caporale of Clayton, a 2015 graduate of the Citadel, has received the Robert G. Miller Memorial Sword for excellence in battalion leadership and public service. He graduated May 9 with a bachelor’s degree in biology.

Jessica Johnson of Clayton has gradated from Fayetteville State University with a master’s degree in social work.
