Faith Notes: Oct. 15

Fall events

Plates of barbecued chicken, boiled potatoes and green beans will be on sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Grace Episcopal Church, 111 Lee Court, Clayton. The cost is $8 per plate.

A rummage sale is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 18, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 4057 U.S. 70 Business West between Smithfield and Clayton. The sale will feature a large variety of items. Fill a bag with clothes for $5.

A bazaar is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Elizabeth United Methodist Church, 4269 Cleveland Road, Smithfield. Bingo play will run from noon to 2 p.m.

Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church will hold its annual Harvest Day sale Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Pomona Creech Community Building on Brogden Road five miles east of Smithfield. Supper will be at 6 p.m. An auction of crafts, baked goods, flowers and other items will begin at 7 p.m.

A harvest sale is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Lee’s Chapel Advent Christian Church, 4154 N.C. 96 South, Four Oaks. Plates of barbecued pork and chicken will be on sale. The cost is $8 per plate and includes potatoes, hushpuppies, coleslaw and dessert. Takeout will be available. For young people

A youth prayer rally and parade is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, on the Town Square, 110 W. Main St., Clayton. Organizers invite the community to come together and light a candle for our youth. For more information, call Jacqueline Gathers at 919-391-8087.

LOGOS, a faith-based program of education and fun for children and youth, has launched at Providence Presbyterian Church, 14664 N.C. 210 near McGee’s Crossroads. AWANA, a club for students from age 4 through sixth grade, meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 5217 Barber Mill Road, Clayton. A women’s retreat titled “SOAR,” or Strengthen, Overcome, Anticipate and Renew, will take place Oct. 17-18 at Horne Memorial United Methodist Church, 121 E. Second St., Clayton. The Friday session, with dinner, will run from 6 to 9 p.m. The Saturday session, with a continental breakfast and lunch, will run from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Catherine Ritch will lead the retreat. Support groups
