Robert Gregory Brooks, a retired Baptist minister, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 12, 2014. He was born January 2, 1937 in Conway, South Carolina. Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Baptist Center Church with Rev. Ray Carr and Dr. Mark White officiating.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and especially loved sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others. He was educated at North Greenville and Furman Universities. He attended both New Orleans Baptist and Southeastern Baptist Seminaries where he received a Master of Divinity. He pastored churches in South Carolina, Louisiana, and North Carolina. He retired from Baptist Center Church, Clayton, North Carolina where he served for 24 years.
He is preceded in death by his biological mother, Catherine Gregory Luthi, his parents, Wallie and Jeanne Brooks, and brother, Thomas Patton Brooks.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ann Lackey Brooks; daughters, Laurel Causby and her husband Gary, Talitha Crawford and her husband Randall, April Darden and her husband Jason and six grandchildren, Drew and Nathan Causby, Emma Crawford Anderson and her husband Chris, Jacob Crawford, Ava and Bennett Darden; one great grandchild, Bryce Anderson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Center Church, Clayton, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. at the church.
