5K Race at Flowers Plantation

The Pineville Race Series Trifecta series of three 5K races will begin on Aug. 30 with the Flowers Plantation Labor Day 5K race to benefit the Corinth Holders High School cross country team. The fee is $15 for early registration and $20 after Aug. 20. There will be a one-mile fun run for kids at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K race starts at 8 a.m. T-shirts will be available for all participants and prizes will be presented to the top three male and female finishers. Register at The other 5K series races are planned for the fall (the annual Turkey Trot) and December (the Flowers Festive 5K).

Clayton High athletic passes

Clayton High School is now selling season athletic passes. The CHS student pass is $50, an individual non-student pass is $100 and a four-pack of family passes is $250. Additional family passes are $25 each. These are picture IDs so all ticket holders must come to the Clayton High main office to receive their pass. Passes will be on sale from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Aug. 12-13 and Aug. 20-21 and from 1-7 p.m. Contact the Clayton High School office at 919-553-4064 for more details.

Cheer clinic in Garner

The Garner cheerleaders will hold the GMHS Cheer Clinic at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the school gym for ages 5-12. The cost for the three-hour clinic is $25 per person. Participants will learn cheers, chants and a dance. All participants will receive a t-shirt, a bow and cheer with the GMHS squad at the first home football game. Johnston Horse Show Series for 2014

NetWorks basketball skills camp
