Neuse Charter sweeps Princeton

Neuse Charter grabbed two Carolina 1A Conference basketball wins over Princeton Tuesday night. The Cougar boys squad took a 66-54 victory behind 26 points from Jimmie Sanders III. DeVante Stevens added 16 for NCS, which improved to 4-5 in conference play and 11-10 overall.

Tanner Woodard and Michael Wooten had 14 points each for Princeton (2-6 conference).

Dominique Dakin had 29 points for Neuse Charter’s girls in a 57-52 victory. McKenna Keystat added 14 points for the Cougars (4-5 conference).

Emily Ricks had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (3-6 conference).

Cleveland, Corinth Holders girls in three-way tie for first

Triton’s 49-45 girls basketball victory over Corinth Holders created a three-way tie for first place in the Two Rivers 3A Conference between Cleveland, Corinth Holders and Triton. All three left Tuesday night’s action with 4-1 league marks.

Cleveland blitzed Western Harnett for a 64-21 victory. Myranna Watkins and Miranda Hinton had 10 points each for the Rams in the win.

Stenborg’s career night helps lift Rams

Senior forward Bobby Stenborg scored a career-high 41 points in a 84-39 boys basketball victory for Cleveland over Western Harnett Tuesday night.

Hawks roll by Corinth Holders boys

Triton shined on defense and rolled by Corinth Holders, 70-33, in boys basketball Tuesday night. The Pirates didn’t score more than 10 points in any quarter in the loss.
