Parents: Clay and Sally Lovett

High School: Clayton

Height, Weight: 6-foot-2, 250 pounds

Also Considered: Bridgewater, Shenandoah University

Why Averett? “I really felt like the opportunity there really increased my chances of being successful. And would be a great springboard into life because of the things they’d provide.”

Notable: William will play offensive line for the Cougars. He played guard as a senior at Clayton and tackle as a junior. He prefers lining up at guard. “I just liked being able to come around that corner pulling and hit a guy as hard as I can,” he said. … He knows strength improvement will one of his big keys for success at Averett. … Playing in the Comet blue will always be a lifelong memory for him. “All the friends I’ve made here and the family atmosphere there is,” William said. “I have lifelong friends now because of Clayton football and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.” … He’s undecided on a major, but is interested in the music field or business.
