Gen. Douglas M. Fraser speaks at Duke

Gen. Douglas M. Fraser, former commander in chief of the U.S. Southern Command, will speak on “Continuing Security Challenges in Central and South America and the Caribbean: Drugs, Immigration, Disaster Relief and More” at 7:30 p.m. in room 04 of the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University.

AIGA Town Square

AIGA Town Square, an open meet-up for designers in the Durham and Chapel Hill area, will meet at 7:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month.

Blue Devils Toastmasters

The Blue Devils Toastmasters Club meets from noon to 1 p.m. the first and third Friday of every month in Room 203 of the Duke Human Resources Building, 705 Broad St. The club focuses on improving public speaking, communication and leadership skills.

Santa comes to Northgate Mall

Northgate Mall’s holiday festivities will be from 6-9 p.m. on The Plaza at 1058 W. Club Blvd. There will be a tree lighting, live music, face painting and photos with Santa.
