The Cameron Gallery, located inside The Scrap Exchange, is seeking exhibition proposals for the 2015 calendar year.
The Cameron Gallery is dedicated to showcasing artists who use reclaimed materials and ideas in their work. Since 2004, the gallery has participated in more than 100 Third Friday Durham art walks and has featured more than 50 artists each year.
If you are interested in exhibiting your work, creating an installation, or curating a group show at The Scrap Exchange in 2015, please send a proposal to email@example.com and include “Green Gallery 2015” in the subject line. Proposals must include a brief description of the exhibition, a bio for participating artists and three to five images of creative work. Label all images with the artist name and include an attachment listing the dates, dimensions, medium, and title of the work.
Work can be in any medium, but must involve a strong element of reuse. Past shows have featured from using materials in 2-D and 3-D art to sampling and remixing sound, video or imagery. The Cameron Gallery is visited daily by children and adults of all ages, and with that in mind all submitted work must be appropriate for any audience. Cameron Gallery shows change monthly, and openings are scheduled on the third Friday of each month, in conjunction with Durham’s Third Friday gallery walk.

Proposals will be considered on a rolling basis. Only complete submissions will be reviewed. A gallery committee of staff members, community members and artists will select all Green Gallery exhibitions. When a submission is accepted, the artist will be notified immediately.
The Cameron Gallery is named in honor of Danny Cameron, who over the years has volunteered his time and expertise along with operational and building support from the Dan Cameron Family Foundation. Cameron’s support invests in a future that embodies creative reuse in communities and provides space for exhibiting artists.
